It's in that company that you will succeed

I truly believe that it's time for more women to take on positions of leadership in our organisations and in our world.  It's time for women to do it on their terms and not following an outdated way of working and living.  And the only way we are going to do this is together. If you want to make this year the year that you start designing, creating and achieving the career and life that you want, then join the Women in Leadership Community and spend a year with likeminded women who will support and challenge you on your journey.  And let me, Sonia Gavira, executive and leadership coach, guide, support and challenge you individually and as a group on this journey too.

Do any of these sound familiar?

You are being challenged to be someone you are not at work
You are being overlooked or passed over for opportunities
To be heard you seem to have to shout louder than others.
When you see others in senior postitions in your organisation, you don't like what you see
You are seen as either too aggressive or too soft
You want to make a difference but  not at the expense of your personal life
You can't find the role models that you want
Your friends are not on the same page when it comes to your career
You struggle to articulate what you want to do next
You are finding it lonely at work in your position

20 years in the making

I've been an executive and leadership coach for over 20 years and there are two things that I continue to see:

1. Secretly ambitious women who want to lead organisations and make a difference but cannot see a way to do it that is in line with who they want to be and how they want to live.

2. Senior women who lack the support, challenge and encouragement from other women on a similar journey.

The Women in Leadership Community has been designed to remedy both those situations and help more women lead in their organisations, their communities and beyond. This is your opportunity to join as a Founding Member.

There were too many lightbulb moments to count but primarily she helped me rediscover my passion for leadership and ignited several changes in how I need to move in my career. This resulted in me advancing into a more senior leadership role within my organization. Her unique approach created a trusting environment quickly and allowed me to get at the heart of what I needed to accomplish. I highly recommend, if you have the opportunity, to have some fun working with Sonia!!!

...a belief that you can be kind, but strong, empathetic but decisive, optimistic but focused. And that you can be your own kind of leader

Jacinda Ardern

This is what Jacinda Ardern wished for leaders on resigning as Prime Minister for New Zealand, stating that it was time for her to go. In a world where we have placed so much value on strength and power, it's time that we add to those other qualities which are in high demand from leaders today:

Strong - and - Kind
Powerful - and - Compassionate
Vocal - and - A great listener
Determined - and - Caring
Focussed on results - and - Focussed on people
Decisive - and - Curious

My belief is that women are well placed to hold these polarities at once and create a model of leadership that is needed if we are to face and overcome the crisis in our organisations and around the world.

The difference Sonia's coaching made was the accountability to myself and supporting the necessary uncomfortable steps that I needed to take and those I continue to take so I don’t stagnate in my thinking. Sonia has a great ability to meet you where you are, help you define with real clarity what it is you need and will supportingly nudge you along the way so you reach your definition of success

So, what's inside the Women in Leadership Community?

woman having a coaching session via zoom

10 one-to-one coaching sessions

10 x 90 minute coaching sessions via zoom where you will work with Sonia in confidence on your own development plan.  This is your opportunity to work with an experienced executive and leadership coach to set your goals for the year and get both the individual support and accountability to achieve them.

Prior to our first session, you will complete a Motivational Map designed to help you understand what drives you and also measure how much of that you have or don't have! It's an amazing way to get clarity on what you need to have at work and in life in order to enjoy both and thrive.

But there is no agenda here other than yours! You are free to use the coaching in whatever way suits you and gives you the best results for the year.

Just know that Sonia will challenge you to get the most value from these sessions!

10 Online Peer Group Sessions

Two-hour peer group sessions carried out online via zoom where you will:

1. Get to know each other, set the rules of engagement and find out how you can support each others' journey.

2. Set the calendar for the year with up to 8 key topics that you want to cover.

3. Listen to guest experts who can add additional support on topics that have been identified.

4. Work in Solution circles - some of the group will present a challenge that they want to get support with and members will weigh in with advice, ideas, support and whatever else is required.

This is like having your own board made up of women who are there to support and challenge you to achieve your goals.

Weekend Retreat

From Friday night to Sunday lunch, this will be an opportunity for you to spend time face to face with your peer group and Sonia by the sea in the beautiful county of Dorset and indulge both in mental and physical relaxation AND stimulation AND have a lot of fun too!

When it comes to the discussions and learning at the retreat, each group will design their own depending on their professional needs. But every retreat will include good food and drink, opportunities to relax, opportunities to stretch yourself and lots of fun and laughter with your new friends.

Community and Accountability

An essential component of the programme is the Community that you will build with your peers and the accountability that you will get from each other.

In addition to the 10 peer group sessions and the weekend retreat, you will also have a community hub online where you will have access to all the materials that we use throughout the year, a place where you can share resources with each other and the option of a community chat forum too.

The software that we use to house the hub has an amazing "search" tool, which means that you can search all the content the group has agreed to record - from peer group meetings to guest speakers and more.

Confidentiality is key and the community hub will be private to your group and only house what has been agreed by each group.

Are you ready?...What are you waiting for?

Sonia has a unique ability to blend empathy, understanding and challenge into a coaching relationship. I would wholeheartedly recommend Sonia to anyone transitioning into a more senior role. Sonia has been instrumental in my development and I have a lot to be grateful for. Thank you!

What if I don't join now?

Although I'd love to be able to say that the world will end 🤣 ... it won't... but this is what you may find and will definitley miss out on:

If you've experienced loneliness at work, it's likely to continue
The role models you have been looking for will probably continue to elude you
The struggle to find supportive peers who have no other agenda other than to help you grow, will continue
Finding people to challenge you constructively again, with no agenda other than to help you grow, will continue to be a challenge
You could miss out on becoming the role model you are looking for
You might not get as far as you dreamt of going, as you really do go further with others
You might not learn as much or grow as fast without the support and challenge of others
Clarity on your career and life goals may continue to be hard to achieve
You might miss out on an amazing opportunity, because you continue to play smaller than you actually can

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the membership?

Membership is for 1 full year renewable at the same level of investment you made originally

What if I don't want the individual coaching?

Coaching is part of the first year of membership. It's one of the key elements of the membership and designed to get you the best result. In subsequent years, you can remove or reduce the coaching element to suit your needs. At that stage we can give you different investment levels to continue your membership.

Is travel to the retreat in Dorset covered?

No. We cover accommodation, materials and all meals and drink with meals, tea and coffee, but travel and any other extras will be at your own expense.

How do you make up the groups?

We have an application process which includes a short questionnaire and a call so that we can make sure that this is the right membership for you and so that we can put together people in groups where there is some alignment in terms of objectives and values and variety in terms of professional background.

Am I committed to taking part if I apply?

Absolutely not! The application process is there for you to decide first and foremost, if this is the right membership for you.

How does the community part work?

Following your application, if you decide to join, we will put together a group of maximum 12 women who will work together throughout the year. Look at this as your peer board.  A group of women whose aim will be to support and challenge you on your journey.  Unless you decide to leave, these women will travel with you. You will build strong relationships and are encouraged to do so both within and outside the membership.  As the number of groups grow, there will also be the opportunity to network with members of other groups.  We will facilitate this for you online and hope to one day be able to do so face to face too.

Is this just for UK based people or can I apply if I live elsewhere?

The only prerequisite for now is that you speak English fluently as all the sessions will be in English. At the time of application, we will take details of your timezone as it would be more comfortable for you if you were working with others who are in a similar timezone to you.  The retreat takes place in the UK, so you would need to factor that in in terms of travel and time.  If you apply and there isn't a group you can join in your timezone, you have the option of staying on our waiting list, to be advised when a place becomes available.

What does being a "founding member" mean?

This is the first time that this membership is being offered in this format, so we are offering a reduced investment and if you renew, regardless of what the investment goes up to, you will keep the same price you initially paid.

What makes this community different from others who also work with women?

The women in leadership community combines peer groups with one-to-one coaching AND a retreat as essential elements for your success.  Your peer group will work together for a year AND as the membership grows you will also have access to others in the membership, but your group remains as your main support.  This enables psychological safety and trust to grow - an essential element for success. The content of each retreat is also tailored to the needs of each group rather than be a conference style format.

“Being part of the tribe makes you realise that as a leader we face very similar challenges and with Sonia’s leadership, coaching experience and heart we are all developing and understanding our potential
